“Bowie Is” promises to become the event of the year in London as thousands of fans and admirers of the Artist with capital A are flocking to London since March 23 to see this comprehensive exhibition on the man at the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A).

To mark the occasion, Selfridges, voted “Best Department Store in the World at the Global Department Store Summit Paris 2012, will feature a vast array of Bowie-related items, from memorabilia to clothes by influential fashion designers inspired in David’s persona and characters.

In collaboration with V&A Selfridges has turned its concept store in an “exclusive tribute experience as colourful as the iconic superstar” and named it “Bowie is all yours”.

If you are looking for that book or rare Bowie item, chances are that you will find it at Seldridges. Our personal suggestion is David Bowie Black Book, an illustrated book by Miles featuring photos up to the 1980 “Scary Monsters” period, a true collector’s item.

One of the strongest reasons to visit this Concept Store is the selection from both Decades and Selfridges, featuring clothing inspired on David Bowie. Cult  vintage fashion emporium Decades curated a special capsule collection for this department’s store tribute featuring vintage items by Celine, Alaia, Mugler, Dior and YSL inspired on the man with red air who fell to Earth.

Selfridges Edit on the other hand is a selection of items from Spring/Summer 2013 fashion shows  showing how David Bowie still inspires designers such as Peter Pilotto, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Givenchy and others.

Vintage and modern meet to provide a full Bowie look. And should you wish to leave Selfridges and walk Oxford Street in full Bowie attire including with full make-up, Alex Box, in partnership with Illamasqua will be organising makeovers and master-classes on Bowie’s famous make-up personalities.

For those who cannot travel to London Selfridges will soon offer some of these items at its online store www.selfridges.com.
