What might sound for many a true heresy is for many a long awaited novelty. 140 years after Jacob Davis and company founder Levi Strauss invented and patented this riveted piece of clothing in 1873, the famous Levi’s 501 now come in many colours, thus breaking the 140-year old blue jean tradition that made this brand a true icon.
As of this Spring, and in order to celebrate its anniversary, this American brand will feature for the first time a collection in four different colours: ivy green, true chino, chalk blue and mineral red.
With this collection the brand thus come closer to general trend for this Spring/Summer which will be blooming with colour from flashy neon to more discrete pastel and where shades of blue, orange and yellow predominate.
The brand has also introduced some changes in this new generation of 501 Levi’s, particularly a more adjusted silhouette in the waist and larger pockets, thus responding to the needs of those who cannot leave home without their smartphones.
The Lisbon riverfront welcomes as of this Friday another club, another step to consolidate the Portuguese capital as one of the best destinations for partygoers.
White funk, funky, disco, deep house, techno and assorted dance beats are just some of the sounds that will resonate in a new club opening its doors on December 20. Bearing the name Station, the new club features a dance arena on the first floor and a restaurant on the ground floor, taking up a total area of 500 m2 and is located close to one of Lisbon’s busiest train stations connecting the city with the hedonistic beach destinations of Estoril and Cascais and promises to take you on a journey for the senses. Food is one of the elements of the new place, offering a restaurant of Asian inspiration, from Vietnamese to Japanese dishes, under supervision of Chef Leonor Manita. Nobu in London, Hotel do Bairro Alto and New Wook, both in Lisbon, are some of the places this Chef worked in before venturing in this new restaurant where she will be heading a team formed by cooking professionals mainly of Thai origin and who took to Lisbon months ago in order to prepare for this new project. Aside from the inside areas, in the warmer months from March to October Station will give its guests the possibility of having lunch outside in an esplanade overlooking the river.
Music is at the heart of this place aiming at becoming a privileged destination for clubbers. The man in charge of the dance beats and of selecting the resident and guest DJs, bands and further performers is Tó Ricciardi who has been seen in recent weeks supervising the works in order to make sure the building has the right sound quality. With an impressive track record, Ricciardi began his career in 1991, having produced a number of tracks for Portuguese and foreign artists, releasing in 1994 “Free your mind” for Kaos records and which would become major hit worldwide. Nylon records is another venture by this DJs, a label he created in 1999 and which has released a fair number of dance tracks that gained international recognition. Lisbon knows him well, particularly for his DJ sessions at the iconic Frágil, Alcântara-Mar or Indústria, just to name a few, along with other clubs abroad where he did play from Kapital in Madrid to Club Europa in Paris. Station will be open from Tuesday to Saturday and the expectations are high. We will bring you the photos of the place as of December 20, hence stay tuned for more.
O Pavilhão de Exposições do Instituto Superior de Agronomia foi o local escolhido por Fátima Lopes para o desfile comemorativo dos seus 30 anos de carreira. Lisbon is definitely the place to visit. The global village of the moment considering the number of foreigners from all walks of life flocking here. The best way to arrive in Lisbon is by plane and we recommend the national airline, the best in the world, now partly owned by a Brazilian, but such is […]
The world lost today the biggest artist of all times and everything you say will never be enough to describe the man we owe so much to. Bowie has been in my life ever since I bought my first Bowie record at the age of 15 when I was living in the city of Coimbra, […]
Two years after the death of the iconic designer Jesus del Pozo, New York was the stage for the third presentation of the re-baptised DELPOZO brand, now a Spanish venture with major international aspirations.
