Nespresso Designers Contest Portugal

The famous brand Nespresso has just announced the second edition of its Designer’s contest which is there to promote young emerging Portuguese designers. The brand teamed up with ModaLisboa, the association hosting Lisboa Fashion Week and the jury will be formed by Eduarda Abbondanza, director of Moda Lisboa, Lisbon-based fashion designer Manuel Alves and the Oporto-based Nuno Baltazar, along with Tó Romano the man in charge of model agency Central Models and Paula Mateus, chief editor of Vogue Portugal.

Flor Guerreiro, one of the best models in Portugal and with the most gracious and confident walk on the runway, in flats or vertiginous high heels, is the ambassador for this event. Luis Emílio was the winner of the first edition whose design was worn by Flor in the event presenting the second edition.

The challenge for the designers will be to present a piece of womenwear inspired in Nespresso capsules. This contest is open to young designers aged 16 to 30 and, aside from a trip to a European fashion capital they will have also the opportunity to show their work in an exclusive Nespresso fashion show to be held in the next edition of Lisbon Fashion Week in October.
