25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall we share one of the most striking and touching stories and images: the Rosinen bombers. These planes were there to provide food supplies after 1945 to the western part of Berlin, a true island in the middle of the Eastern Block. Hundreds of children used to flock to the limits of Tempelhof airport watching these planes and one day American soldiers came up with the idea of launching candies to these children in small parachutes. Such pictures can be seen when visiting the old Tempelhof airport now turned into a huge playground where you can ride a bike, skate, picnic and be happy in the now reunited city of Berlin.
